The Cleveland Ecumenical Institute for Religious Studies (CEIRS) was created to offer educational opportunities for people who desire new perspectives, who are drawn to ecumenism, and are in search for spiritual truth and a deeper relationship with God.
Ecumenism is the concept and principle in which Christians who belong to different Christian denominations work collaborative to develop closer relationships and cultivate understanding among faith communities. Ecumenism promotes Christian unity and encourages a deepening of understanding among Abrahamic and world religions.
We are committed to providing learners with academically responsible faculty offering a level of education that enhances the formative work already being done in local congregations. In CEIRS virtual and in-person classrooms, participants encounter Christian learning in dialogue with other great world religions.
The heart of our work is to foster relationships among people from different faith traditions across our Greater Cleveland community.
